In an effort to help the millions of people affected by the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Island Destinations will donate $5 to Doctors Without Borders for each Caribbean and Mexican-Caribbean booking, without limit, now through Feb. 15. In addition, travel agents booking Caribbean and Mexican-Caribbean vacations will have the opportunity to donate 1 percent of the total booking (to be taken out of their commission) to the organization. Island Destinations will match all agent 1 percent donations. For example, if an agent typically receives a 12 percent commission and decides to donate 1 percent on a $10,000 booking, this would be a $100 donation, with the agent keeping $1,100. This would mean a $200 donation -- $100 from the agent and $100 from Island Destinations. Agents can also ask their Caribbean-bound clients to add a fixed $100 to their booking for relief in Haiti.
